The New Zealand rabbit is available in several colors such as White, Red, Black, Blue and Broken colors. I only breed the white ones. New Zealand rabbits were originally bred for their meat and for fur and have since been adopted as pets and show rabbits. They are a very quick growing rabbit breed; they have a great food to meat ratio and are easily cared for. New Zealand rabbits weigh upwards of 12 pounds grown. Despite the name New Zealand, they are 100% an American breed. Often called an Albino rabbit, the New Zealand White have a genetic deviation called albinism which is caused by a lack of melanin that is a vital pigment that give all creatures including humans their skin, fur, hair, and eye color. Breeders do not refer to the New Zealand White as an Albino rabbit. See our Stock New Zealand White below.
